The Vessel
We operate the 22m Catamaran ‘Supercat’. The vessel has two levels and three outside viewing areas.
The main saloon is airconditioned with 45 x seats and 5 x tables. It also houses the fully licenced bar for purchase of drinks and snacks, in addition to the tea and coffee station.
The upperdeck has 2 x tables with 40 x seats, a BBQ and bench seating.

Pram Accessibility: We understand the importance of accommodating families with young children. Our boat welcomes families to bring their prams, ensuring that parents and guardians can easily navigate the vessel with their little ones. Our friendly crew can assist you with boarding and storage on the boat.
Companion Cards: We proudly accept companion cards on board. This initiative is aimed at promoting inclusivity, allowing those with disabilities to have the support they need during their trip. If you possess a companion card or a disability card, you and your carer can both purchase a concession ticket price.
Audio Guides for Visually Impaired Guests: For our visually impaired guests, we have collaborated with Vacayit to design a series of audio guides to enhance the experience. These guides will provide insightful narration, describing the scenic beauty and notable points of interest throughout the journey. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the wonders of Moreton Island and Moreton Bay. Support for Disabilities: Our crew is trained to provide assistance to guests with disabilities. Wheelchair Access: Unfortunately, due to the design of our vessel, we cannot facilitate wheelchairs onboard.
The Owners
Established over 30 years ago, Dolphin Wild Island Cruises has proudly been and remains a local and family run business. It is run by husband-and-wife team David Boon and Hayley Creamer, both nautical professionals.
David and Hayley share over four decades of international boating experience between them. This has helped shape the unique adventures provided by Dolphin Wild Island Cruises.

Snorkel Tours
We prioritize responsible snorkeling practices to protect the delicate underwater ecosystem, ensuring minimal impact on the coral reefs and marine creatures. These include small snorkel groups, guided by our experienced and knowledgeable crew.
Environmental Initiatives
Dolphin Wild supports the use of sustainable means of transport to reach Newport Marina. Eg car share, bicycle, e-scooter, public transport and other environmentally friendly options. Our small tour groups also help to minimise our environmental footprint.
Sustainability Initiatives
We reduce waste through a refillable water cooler for guests water bottles. Sourced from a local indigenous company Waddi Springs. We also use reusable beverage cans, biodegradable cups, and have a strict waste management system onboard to leave nothing.
Community Engagement
We work closely with Parks and Forest, supporting conservation projects, and promoting environmental awareness. We support local businesses by sourcing our products and services within the community, contributing to the region’s economic sustainability.

Mulgumpin (Moreton Island)
Mulgumpin (Moreton Island) is jointly managed by QPWS and the traditional owners, the Quandamooka People whose relationship with the island dates back thousands of years. The island features crystal clear lagoons, rocky headlands, tall sand dunes and miles of sandy beaches.
Mulgumpin’s national park was renamed in 2021 to Gheebulum Kunungai (Moreton Island) meaning ‘lightnings’ playground’ in the language of the Quandamooka people.
‘Gheebulum’ and ‘Kunungai’ are the two largest sand hills in the national park which tell the creation of life story, the Legend of the Lightnings Playground.
Indigenous cultural heritage includes shell middens that are evidence of thousands of years of Aboriginal occupation. Ruins of coastal defence bases from World War II are a reminder of Australia’s involvement in world conflict. There also remains a historic lighthouse.
